Olen joskus aikoja sitten ostanut kaverilta tuollaisen aika s\u00f6\u00f6tin 20-luvun tyylisen kupuhatun. Se on kitin v\u00e4rist\u00e4 huopaa ja siin\u00e4 on huovasta leikattu koriste sivulla. N\u00e4ytt\u00e4vyydest\u00e4\u00e4n huolimatta hattu on j\u00e4\u00e4nyt syyst\u00e4 tai toisesta v\u00e4h\u00e4lle k\u00e4yt\u00f6ll\u00e4. Niinp\u00e4 ajattelin v\u00e4h\u00e4n virkist\u00e4\u00e4 sit\u00e4. Alkuper\u00e4iseen suunnitelmaani kuului mets\u00e4nvihre\u00e4 nauha, mutta sellaista ei varastossa ollut. P\u00e4\u00e4dyin siis t\u00e4h\u00e4n turkoosiin silkkisamettinauhaan. Lopuksi p\u00e4\u00e4tin viel\u00e4 koristella huopakuvion harmaanruskeilla helmill\u00e4 jotka ovat jostakin mummun aikoja sitten hajonneesta kaulakorusta. Quite many years ago I bought a hat from a friend. It’s modern but 20’s style cloche hat, made of chalk coloured felt and decorated with felt motif. I haven’t really used it much, so I decided to upgrade it a little. Originally I wanted forest green ribbon on it, but could not find one from my stash. So I chose this turquoise silk velvet ribbon instead. I also decided to decorate the felt motif with gray-brown beads. They are leftovers from Granny’s old broken necklace. Now I just have to find matching gloves to go with it.<\/p>\n

2. Arrange the ribbon as you like on the bottom. You can turn the ribbon
\nand create twists on it or just use it flat. I used the whole ribbon I had and
\nplaced it in front on two rows.

\n3. Sew the ribbon on place by hand. Use as invisible stitches as you can.
\nUse fine needle which goes through thick felt easily.<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

4. Sommittele loput koristeet: helmet, strassit, kukat, rusetit tms ja kiinnit\u00e4
\nne paikalleen ommellen. Kun ompelet hikinauhan (hatun sis\u00e4puolella oleva
\nripsinauha) yl\u00e4puolella, voit ommella pistot l\u00e4pi asti. Kun taas ompelet\u00a0hiki-
\nnauhan alapuolella, lierin puolella, ompele pistot niin ett\u00e4 ne eiv\u00e4t tule huovan l\u00e4pi. \/<\/strong><\/span>
\n 4. Arrange rest of the decor: beads, rhinestones, flowers, bows etc and sew them on
\nplace.\u00a0When you sew above the petersham ribbon, you can do the stitches
\nthrough the felt, but when you sew below the ribbon, on the brim side,
\nmake sure stitches don’t show on reverse side.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
