Reilu kolmisen vuotta balettia on\u00a0takana<span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong> (aloitin tuolloin baletin siis t\u00e4ysin uutena lajina)<\/strong><\/span> ja olen huomannut ett\u00e4 ainakin jonkinlaista edistyst\u00e4 on vihdoin tapahtunut. T\u00e4n\u00e4 syksyn\u00e4 p\u00e4\u00e4tin nostaa treenikertoja yhdest\u00e4 tunnista kahteen per viikko. En tied\u00e4 oliko tuo se ratkaiseva k\u00e4\u00e4nne, mutta viimeaikoina olen alkanut kiinnitt\u00e4\u00e4 huomiota siihen, ett\u00e4 liikkeiden tekeminen on ollut hiukan helpompaa. Suoran jalan nostot <span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>(battement jet\u00e9 ja grand battement jet\u00e9)<\/strong><\/span> \u00a0ja p\u00e4ki\u00f6ille nousut <span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>(relev\u00e9 demi-pointe)<\/strong><\/span> eiv\u00e4t ole olleet ihan niin tuskaista puuhaa kuin ennen. \u00a0Haasteita toki edelleen l\u00f6ytyy ihan ykk\u00f6stasonkin treeneist\u00e4 vaikka muille jakaa, joten en pid\u00e4 mink\u00e4\u00e4nlaista kiirett\u00e4 nostaa tasoa kakkoseen.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>Haasteet<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nVaikeinta baletissa minulle ovat tasapainoa vaativat keskilattian harjoitukset <span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>(eli ilman tukea tangosta)<\/strong><\/span> ja piruetit. Jostain syyst\u00e4 olen aina kuvitellut, ett\u00e4 minulla on hyv\u00e4 tasapaino, kunnes aloitin baletin ja burleskin. Huomasin ett\u00e4 yhdell\u00e4 jalalla seisominen tuottaa ongelmia jo ihan koko jalalla seisoessa, saati sitten relev\u00e9ss\u00e4 p\u00e4ki\u00e4ll\u00e4. En tajua mist\u00e4 se johtuu, ehk\u00e4 en jostain syyst\u00e4 saa kunnon pitoa keskivartaloon vaikka kuinka yrit\u00e4n pit\u00e4\u00e4 vatsalihakset tiukkana. Erityisen vaikeaa tasapainon s\u00e4ilytt\u00e4minen on migreenikohtausten j\u00e4lkeisiss\u00e4 treeneiss\u00e4.<\/p>\n<p>Baletissa on paljon liikkeit\u00e4, joissa seist\u00e4\u00e4n yhdell\u00e4 jalalla ja toinen jalka on joko ojennettuna suoraksi johonkin suuntaan tai koukistettuna jalkater\u00e4 l\u00e4hell\u00e4 tukijalkaa. Niiss\u00e4 pysyminen ja samalla liikkeiden tekeminen k\u00e4sill\u00e4 tai sill\u00e4 nostetulla jalalla on todella vaikeaa. Ja piruetit, no neh\u00e4n ovat juurikin tuota edell\u00e4mainittua, yhdistettyn\u00e4 py\u00f6riv\u00e4\u00e4n liikkeeseen. Ett\u00e4 jep jep, ei ole mennyt ihan nappiin, niinkuin ikin\u00e4. T\u00e4h\u00e4n ei varmaan ole mit\u00e4\u00e4n muuta keinoa kuin treenata sit\u00e4 kahta kovemmin, &#8220;napa tiukkana&#8221; kuten ohjaajamme Virpi sanoo.<\/p>\n<p>Relev\u00e9ss\u00e4 liikkeiden tekeminen on my\u00f6s vaikeaa. Jalkaterien lihakset tarvitsevat ilmiselv\u00e4sti lis\u00e4treeni\u00e4 koska ne v\u00e4syv\u00e4t todella nopeasti enk\u00e4 pysty ihan kaikkia harjoitussarjoja tekem\u00e4\u00e4n niin ett\u00e4 pit\u00e4isin relev\u00e9n koko sarjan ajan. Siksi olenkin alkanut tehd\u00e4 kevyit\u00e4 relev\u00e9t\u00e4 kotona. Niit\u00e4 t\u00e4ytyisi nyt muistaa ja jaksaa tehd\u00e4 etenkin pitk\u00e4n joulutauon aikana kun balettitunteja ei ole. K\u00e4rkitossuilla treenausta varten\u00a0relev\u00e9-asian t\u00e4ytyisi olla kunnossa ja nilkan ojennuksen vahva. Muuten ei k\u00e4rjille ole nousemista. Ohjaajamme tosin vihjaisi ett\u00e4 kev\u00e4\u00e4n ohjelmassa voisi olla jo kevytt\u00e4 k\u00e4rkitossutreeni\u00e4. Jei!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>Inhokit<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nPikkuhypyt, need I say more? Pikkuhypyiss\u00e4 hypit\u00e4\u00e4n paikallaan yl\u00f6s joko jalat yhdess\u00e4 jalkater\u00e4t ja polvet\u00a0ulosp\u00e4in kierrettyn\u00e4, jalat hieman harallaan samoin aukikierrossa tai jalkoja eteen ja taakse vuorotellen vaihtaen. Kuulostaa helpolta mutta on todella raskasta. Hypyn pit\u00e4isi olla kevyen n\u00e4k\u00f6inen mutta samalla niin korkea ett\u00e4 nilkan ja varpaat ehtii suoristaa t\u00e4ydellisesti ilmassa, alastulossa tehd\u00e4\u00e4n pli\u00e9, eli polvien koukistus. Ja ne piruetit, ne ei vaan onnistu sitten mill\u00e4\u00e4n.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>Baletin ihanuus<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nBaletissa on monia asioita joista pid\u00e4n, siit\u00e4kin huolimatta ett\u00e4 se on todella haastavaa ja vaikeaa. Harjoitukset tehd\u00e4\u00e4n aina klassiseen musiikkiin josta pid\u00e4n paljon. Vaikka totuus on luultavasti toisenlainen niin ainakin tankoharjoituksissa voi hetken tuntea itsens\u00e4 varsin sulokkaaksi ballerinaksi <span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>(ainakin jos ei katso peiliin kovin paljoa)<\/strong><\/span>. Pid\u00e4n siit\u00e4 ett\u00e4 harjoitukset ovat verrattain hidastempoisia, toisin kuin monissa modernimmissa tanssilajeissa, mutta silti fyysisesti rankkoja ja vaativia. Jaksan edelleen h\u00e4mm\u00e4sty\u00e4 siit\u00e4 miten eritt\u00e4in hidastempoiset ja n\u00e4enn\u00e4isesti helpot liikkeet saavat mut hikoilemaan aivan hulluna. Pid\u00e4n siit\u00e4 ett\u00e4 lajissa on jokaiselle taitotasolle\u00a0riitt\u00e4v\u00e4sti haastetta ja mahdollisuuksia edistymiseen. Se sopii siis my\u00f6s sellaiselle joka ei ole koskaan harrastanut liikuntaa tai tanssia. Oikein tehtyjen liikesarjojen sulokkuus, hyv\u00e4 musiikki ja rento, mutta taitotasoon sopivan vaativa ohjaaja ovat ehk\u00e4 kiteytettyn\u00e4 ne asiat joista pid\u00e4n eniten tunneilla. Ja mahdollisuus k\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 s\u00f6p\u00f6j\u00e4 balettiasuja.<\/p>\n<p>PS. Ennenkuin taitavammat baletin harrastajat ehtiv\u00e4t kommentoida kuvien asentoja niin totean ett\u00e4 otin ne itse ajastimella ja minulla oli alle 10 sekuntia aikaa juosta kuvaan ja ottaa oikea asento, joten on hyvin todenn\u00e4k\u00f6ist\u00e4 ett\u00e4 mahdolliset asentovirheet johtuvat ainakin osittain siit\u00e4. Ja asiaan perehtym\u00e4tt\u00f6mille: asennot ovat n\u00e4enn\u00e4isen simppeleit\u00e4 ja ehk\u00e4 voi k\u00e4yd\u00e4 mieless\u00e4 ett\u00e4 mik\u00e4 noissa nyt voisi olla vialla, mutta kyll\u00e4 niiss\u00e4 todella voi. Itse en viel\u00e4 ihan niin harjaantunut ole ett\u00e4 pystyisin kuvasta n\u00e4kem\u00e4\u00e4n virheet, mutta niinkin yksinkertaisen asennon kuin plie voi todellakin tehd\u00e4 v\u00e4\u00e4rin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.evildressmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/inenglish.gif\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7004\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.evildressmaker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/inenglish.gif?resize=214%2C100\" alt=\"inenglish\" width=\"214\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I thought I&#8217;d make a little update about my ballet hobby. It&#8217;s been now over three years since I started taking ballet lessons<span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong> (never done ballet before that, ever)<\/strong> <\/span>and I have noticed recently that there has been atleast slight improvement. This Autumn I decided to increase the lessons from one to two per week. I don&#8217;t know really if that was the reason for developement, but lately I have noticed it&#8217;s a bit easier to do the moves. Straight leg lifts <span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>(battement jet\u00e9 and grand battement jet\u00e9)<\/strong><\/span> and relev\u00e9 demi-pointes are not as much pain in the arse to do than before. There are still lots of challenges in the first level classes, so there is not any kind of rush to move on to level two.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>Challenges<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nMost difficult thing for me are the mid floor exercises <span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>(without barre)<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0which require lot of balance and pirouettes. For some reason I have always thought that I actually have pretty good balance, until I started doing ballet and burlesque. I noticed that standing on one foot gives me loads of troubles, not to mention doing it in relev\u00e9. I don&#8217;t know why it&#8217;s like this, perhaps I just can&#8217;t get enough hold on my mid section, no matter how hard I try to keep my belly tight. This is especially difficult at the first workout after migrain.<\/p>\n<p>There are lots of moves in ballet, where you need to stand on one foot and other leg is either straight or bent, your foot next to supportive leg. Holding those positions and moving hands or the other leg at the same time are really hard for me. And pirouettes, well they are all the above, combined with rotating motion. So yeah, didn&#8217;t go as planned, like ever. I don&#8217;t think there is any other way to improve this, except just try harder and practice more, &#8221; keeping the tight bellybutton&#8221; as our ballet teacher Virpi says.<\/p>\n<p>Doing anything in relev\u00e9 is also really difficult. Obviously my foot muscles need more training because they get really tired very quickly. I can&#8217;t even do all the practice series through holding the relev\u00e9. That&#8217;s why I have started doing light relev\u00e9 training at home too. I would have to remember to do them especiall during the Christmas break when there is no ballet classes at all. For\u00a0pointe shoes relev\u00e9 has to be in order and ankles have to be strong. Otherwise doing\u00a0pointe is not very safe. Our teacher did hint that there will be light pointe practice in our spring schedule.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>Pet hates<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nLittle jumps, need I say more? Little jumps are basic jumps up with your feet together and knees turned outwards, same with your feet separated and then by swapping each foot front and back. Sounds easy but is really hard. Jump is supposed to look really light and easy but at the same time so high that you can stretch your ankles and toes perfectly straight in the air. When coming down you do pli\u00e9, bend of the knees. And those darn pirouettes, I just can&#8217;t get the right.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>Wonders of ballet<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThere are many things about ballet that I like, even though it&#8217;s always really challenging and hard. Practice series are always done to the classical music, which I like a lot. Even though the truth is probably totally different thing, atleast when doing the a l\u00e1 barre exercises you can feel yourself as gracefull ballerina for a little while <span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>(atleast if you don&#8217;t look at the mirror so much)<\/strong><\/span>. I like the fact that many moves and exercises are very slow in tempo, unlike in many other modern dances, but they are still very physically hard and challenging. I&#8217;m still always fascinated by the fact that assumably simple move can make me sweat like mad. I like the fact that there are enough amount of challenge for each level of skills and still possibilities to develope. It works even for those who have never been very athletic nor danced before. When done correctly the gracefullness of the moves, good music and relaxed but demanding teacher, suitable for your skill level, are probably the things I like the most on our classes. And the possibility to wear cute ballet outfits.<\/p>\n<p>PS. Before more skillful ballet dancers comment all the mistakes in my\u00a0moves, please note that I took these photos myself with the camera timer. I had less than 10 seconds to run to the photo and take the correct position. So atleast some of the mistakes are quite likely caused by that. And for those who know nothing about ballet: even as simple moves like these can have mistakes on them.
