Otin varastosta pienen tilkun hienoa silkki\u00e4. Koska t\u00e4ysin samans\u00e4vyist\u00e4 ei l\u00f6ytynyt, ompelin sen pikkuruisin pistoin rei\u00e4n takapuolelle niin ett\u00e4 se kiinnittyi huolella, sek\u00e4 lis\u00e4ksi rei\u00e4n reunojen ymp\u00e4ri. T\u00e4m\u00e4n j\u00e4lkeen kirjailin silkkilangalla pienen kirjailukuvion rei\u00e4n p\u00e4\u00e4lle. Ei haittaa vaikka kirjailu on eri v\u00e4ri\u00e4, minulla sattui olemaan hopeanharmaata silkkilankaa joten kirjailin sill\u00e4. N\u00e4ytt\u00e4isi sopivan vaaleanpunaisen kanssa oikein hyvin. Isompi lehti on l\u00e4hes t\u00e4sm\u00e4lleen rei\u00e4n kokoinen, muut osat ovat lis\u00e4n\u00e4 jotta lehti ei n\u00e4ytt\u00e4isi niin orvolta yksin\u00e4\u00e4n. Yksi oksista peitt\u00e4\u00e4 toisen tahran joka ei l\u00e4htenyt pesussa. Paikatusta kohdasta tulee aika paksu ja j\u00e4ykk\u00e4 korjauksen my\u00f6t\u00e4, mutta t\u00e4ss\u00e4 tapauksessa se ei haittaa.<\/p>\n

Voit k\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 mit\u00e4 hyv\u00e4ns\u00e4 haluamiasi kirjontapistoja, laakapistot tietysti peitt\u00e4v\u00e4t eniten, mutta aina vaurioitunutta kohtaa ei tarvitse saada t\u00e4ysin peittoon, riitt\u00e4\u00e4 ett\u00e4 kirjailu kiert\u00e4\u00e4 suurinpiirtein alueen \u00e4\u00e4riviivat ja osan keskiosasta. Kovin suuriin reikiin t\u00e4m\u00e4 ei ty\u00f6l\u00e4ytens\u00e4 vuoksi sovellu.<\/p>\n

I’m a bad blogger. Some time ago I bought silk chemise (you can never have too many of those)<\/strong><\/span> which had hole in front. I decided to patch that and show it on the blog. Well, did I take before-photo of the hole? Nope. Well done! You just have to imagine the hole. It was frayed on edges with dirt on it. It looked like it was caught between something and then just got ripped off, so it frayed and got dirty at the same time.<\/p>\n

I took small piece of fine silk. Colour didn’t match exactly, so I sewed it on the back of the hole. I also carefully stitched around the edges of the hole. After this I did little embroidery ontop the hole. It doesn’t matter even if the embroidery is different colour. I happened to have silver gray silk floss, so I used that. It seems to go very nicely with powder pink. Large leaf is pretty much the same size than the actual hole. Other parts of the embroidery are just balancing the design. One of the branches covers up another stain which didn’t come off. \u00a0This method makes the area rather thick and stiff, but it doesn’t really matter, atleast not in this case.<\/p>\n

You can use this method to mend single holes, or small holes here and there. Embroidery makes it look like it belongs there, better than just plain mending work would. You can use pretty much what ever embroidery stitch you like. It’s not necessary to cover the damaged area completely. It’s enough if the edges are covered and some of the middle part. This method is\u00a0not very suitable for large holes though, because it’s quite time consuming.<\/p>\n
