Sunnuntaina Tampereella tapahtuu sill\u00e4 legendaariset Pyynikinajot<\/a> her\u00e4\u00e4v\u00e4t henkiin viel\u00e4 kerran.\u00a0Ensimm\u00e4iset Pyynikinajot j\u00e4rjestettiin jo vuonna 1932 ja ne kiellettiin liian vaarallisina 1971. 60-luku oli Pyynikinajojen kulta-aikaa joten t\u00e4m\u00e4nkertainen muistoajo toteutetaan 60-luvun teemaan. Fintage ry <\/a>osallistuu tapahtumaan piknikin muodossa, 60-luvun asuissa tietenkin. Kuten varmaankin tied\u00e4tte, kaapistani ei juurikaan sit\u00e4 vuosikymment\u00e4 l\u00f6ydy joten oli ihan pakko v\u00e4h\u00e4n askarrella.<\/p>\n

Fintage ry:n kaava-arkistoista l\u00f6ytyy helppo ja nopeatekoinen 60-luvun essumekko jonka ompelee ihan parissa tunnissa. Ihmeen kaupalla kaava oli viel\u00e4 valmiiksi minun kokoani. Sattumoisin kangasvarastosta l\u00f6ytyi my\u00f6s 60-luvun puuvillaverhot jotka riittiv\u00e4t hienosti mekon ompeluun. Kyll\u00e4, uhrasin ne t\u00e4h\u00e4n mekkoon, mutta lohdutukseksi voin kertoa ett\u00e4 kangas oli verhoja varten halkaistu keskelt\u00e4, eiv\u00e4t siis kovin hyvin sopineet suuriin moderneihin ikkunoihin.<\/p>\n

Useimmista kietaisumekoista poiketen, t\u00e4ss\u00e4 mallissa kietaisukappaleet ovatkin takapuolella. Edess\u00e4 on keskell\u00e4 sauma johtuen juurikin kankaan halkaisemisesta. Somisteena on viel\u00e4 paikkatasku. P\u00e4\u00e4ntie, k\u00e4dentie ja tasku on huoliteltu puuvillavinonauhalla. Vaikka en ihan hirve\u00e4sti innostu 60-luvun tyylist\u00e4 enk\u00e4 n\u00e4ist\u00e4 v\u00e4rikk\u00e4ist\u00e4 painokuvioisista kankaista niin t\u00e4st\u00e4 mekosta itseasiassa tuli aika kiva kes\u00e4mekko. V\u00e4ritk\u00e4\u00e4n eiv\u00e4t ole omaan tyyliini ne parhaimmat, mutta sopinevat kes\u00e4\u00e4n, erityisesti t\u00e4llaiseen intiaanikes\u00e4\u00e4n oikein hyvin. \u00a0Keng\u00e4t ovat itseasiassa perint\u00f6keng\u00e4t. En en\u00e4\u00e4 ihan tarkkaan muista kuuluivatko ne isot\u00e4dille vai mummulle, mutta ovat kuitenkin 60-lukuiset ja olen k\u00e4ytt\u00e4nyt niit\u00e4 aiemmin paljonkin, tosin en ihan viimevuosina. En kuitenkaan raaski niist\u00e4 luopua koska ovat niin laadukkaat ja kauniin v\u00e4riset. Ja tadaa! N\u00e4in on piknik-asu valmis.<\/p>\n

On Sunday Tampere hosts the legendary motorbike race,\u00a0Pyynikki race<\/a> once more. First Pyynikki race was held in 1932 and they were banned for being too dangerous in 1971. 60’s was the golden time of Pyynikki race, so this time the memorial race is done with 60’s theme. Fintage association<\/a> joins in the event with picnic, in 60’s outfits ofcourse. As you probably know, I don’t really own much 60’s clothes, so I had to make some.<\/p>\n

Fintage association actually has some patterns of their own and from that stash I was able to find this 60’s apron dress. It was easy enough to make in couple hours and just by coincident it was my size too. I happened to have four 60’s cotton curtains which were just enough material for the dress. Yes, I did sacrifice the curtains for this dress, but I can assure you that they were no good for modern windows. The fabric was actually cut in half lengthwise.<\/p>\n

Unlike most wrap-up dresses, this particular model has the wrap-up part on the back. Front has a seam in the middle, \u00a0due to the fact that fabric was cut in half. And cute little patch pocket too. Neckline, armholes and pocket are trimmed with cotton bias tape. Even though 60’s style doesn’t excite me much, I kind of like this dress.Colours are not my best favourites but it’s quite fresh for warm Summer weather, especially the Indian Summer we got now. Shoes are actually passed down to me by my grandmother, but I can’t remember if they belonged to my great aunt or my granny. They are authentic 60’s shoes and I have used them quite a lot, not in recent years though. I can’t make myself to give them up, because they are really good quality and I like the colour. And tadah! Picnic outfit is ready.<\/p>\n
